Located on an 9.75 acre site in suburban Maryland, the project consisted of a 126-bed senior-care facility that includes a 70-bed skilled nursing unit and a 56-bed assisted living facility. The project’s common areas and support spaces are all designed to accommodate a future expansion of 82 additional assisted-living beds, that will include a Special Care Unit for residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The building is fully handicap-accessible. The forms and materials of the building’s exterior are selected to complement the rural character of the adjacent Town of Bel Air and the increasingly residential nature of the surrounding countryside. Full architectural services were provided.
